Bulgaria is emerging as a leader in renewable energy sources and energy storage systems in Southeast Europe.

In this process, Sunterra RE plays a leading role, with four solar power plants with an installed capacity of 535 MW and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 150 MW and a capacity of over 300 MWh.

In an interview for the economic publication Capital, Emil Shopov shares his vision for the significance of this transformation and the next steps in the company's development.

"Batteries are the key element in the transition to a sustainable, flexible, and decentralized energy system. They make renewable energy production predictable and manageable," says the CEO of Sunterra RE.
